The School Bytes parent portal provides parents and carers the option of enabling Two-factor authentication. Once enabled, in addition to your account login, a unique code will also be required to access the parent portal. This extra layer of security ensures the protection of your sensitive information and enhances the overall security of your account.
Please note: To enable 2FA for School Bytes you will need to have a compatible 2FA application such as Google Authenticator.
Detailed steps
1. Log into the parent portal – https://portal.schoolbytes.education/auth/login
2. Select your user name and choose account settings.
3. Select security.
4. Select enable two-factor authentication.
5. Using the 2FA application scan the QR code.
Only required when enabling 2FA for the first time.
6. Enter the code generated from the application.
7. Select save.
2FA is now enabled and each time you log into the parent portal you will need to obtain a new 2FA code from the application and enter the code when prompted.
Disable 2FA
1. Log into the parent portal – https://portal.schoolbytes.education/auth/login
2. Select your user name and choose account settings.
3. Select security.
4. Select disable two-factor authentication.
5. Enter the code generated from the application.
6. Select save.
